Narmada River

1 – Narmada river is the largest river in Madhya Pradesh and is the largest river of India’s fifth number.

2 – This is called the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh.

3- The river Narmada originates from the Amarkantak Mackel mountain range, which is in Anuppur district.

4 – It flows from east to west

5 – Total length of the river Narmada is 1312 km And in Madhya Pradesh 1077 km

6 – The river Narmada does not make delta, it is made of Ascari.

9 – It has 41 tributaries in which the major is – Tawa, Deer, Sugar, Foddha, Karajan, Lion, Banas, Mann, etc.

Chambal River

1 – This is the second big river of Madhya Pradesh, it is also called Caravati.

2 – Chambal river originates from Jaanapava hill in Mahu tehsil of Indore.

3- Flowing towards the northeast, this river is found in Yamuna river in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.
The total length of the Chambal river is 965 km.

4- It enters the subdivision of Madhya Pradesh and the border of Rajasthan. It comes mph twice.

5 – In Madhya Pradesh, it flows near Mhow, Dhar, Ratlam, Shivpuri, Bhind Marana, and Mandsaur.

6 – Tributaries of Chambal River – Kalisindha, Parvati, Banaras and Punasasa.

7- Chambal river creates potholes and ravines in the areas of Bhind Morena.

Tapti River

1 – Tapti river originates from Satpuda mountain range of Multai Tehsil of Betul district.

2- It is found in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat in the Gulf of Cambay near Surat, a total of 724 km flowing.

3 – Its tributaries are Purna, Shiva, and Sauri.

4 – Tapti river flows from east to west, parallel to the river Narmada, and not making delta, makes echuri.

5 – Multani near the river Tapti is the city of Burhanpur.

6 – Joint project of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra on Taptidi – Upper Tapti, Lower Tapti

Son River

1 – Son river is also called the golden river.

2 – The name of the river Son is from Amarkantak of Udep Anuppur district.

3- It flows in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, in the Ganges in Dinapur near Patna.

4 – Total length of Son River is 780 km.

5 – Its tributaries – jovial

6 – The Banasagar project is built on Son river which is located on Devollon of Shahdol district.

Betwa River

1 – The river’s fictitious name is Bretvati.

2 – Betwa river originates from Mahadev mountain range of Kumar again in Raisen district.

3- It connects the Yamuna River in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, flowing 480 km in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh.

4 – Tributaries of river Betwa – Bina, Kane, Dhasan, Sindh, Denva, Kalabhitti and Malini etc.

5 – Vidisha, Sanchi, Orchha, Guna is a city adjacent to it.

6 – The Rajghat dam and the Mattila dam are on the Betwa river, in which the joint irrigation project of MP and UP is located.

7 – The irrigation project has benefited Bhinder, Datia, Bhind, and Gwalior.

Kshipra River

1 – This river originates from the hill called Kakari Bardi, Indore.

2- Kshapra river, Ujjain, flows in Dewas districts and joins the Chambal river in Mandsaur.

3- The total length of this river is 195 kilometers.

4 – Kshapra river is also called Ganga of Malwa.

5- The famous Mahakaleshwar temple is located in Ujjain along this river.

6 – Khan is the tributary of River Shipra.

Venganga River

1 – This river originates from the Parswada Plateau of Sioni.

2- Benihana River is found in the river Wardha in Maharashtra.

3 – Kanhan, Pench, and Bavanthadi are its tributaries.

4- Upper Bengaganga on the river Beniganga, Sanjay Sarovar Project is in Balaghat Seoni.

Tawa River

1 – The origin of the river Tawa is from Mahadev Mountain of Pachmarhi (Hoshangabad).

2- It is found near the Narmada river near Hoshangabad.

3 – The river Tawa is the tributary of river Malini Denawa.

4- Madhya Pradesh’s largest road bridge on this river.

 

Kalisindh River

1 – This river originates from the Vindhyachal mountain of Dewas district.

2 – Its length is 150 kilometers.

3- It is found in the Chambal river in Rajasthan, flowing in Shajpur and Rajgarh districts.

Ken River

1 – Kane river originates from Vindhyachal Mountains

2 – It flows northwards in the Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh.
