Giani Zail Singh (May 5, 1916 – December 25, 1994) was the seventh President of India from 25 July 1982 to 25 July 1987. Giani, who was chief minister of Sikh religion, Punjab, crossed the problematic political road of his will, the power of integrity, and in 1982 he took the position of the proud President of India.

During his tenure till 1987, he had to undergo unfortunate circumstances like ‘Bluestar Operation’ and Indira Gandhi’s assassination.

President Giani Jalsingh was born on 5 May 1916 in Sandhwan village, 4 km away from Kotkapura. His father’s name was Kishan Singh. His father had married 3. They had four children from their third marriage, in which there were three boys and one girl. Jalsingh was the youngest.

Lok Sabha seat was found in 1980, and due to his friendship with Indira, he was made Home Minister of the country during his tenure.
